The solution for Saint Émilion?

No Perse, no de Bouärd, no Rolland, no garage wines,... only Vauthier? More Vauthier! Tonight, a second bottle of the 2015 Le Petit Vauthier is something very special, bordering a superb creature. Dark red, a superb (did i wrote SUPERB) nose, with (watch out!) red berries, rasberries, blackcurrants,...

Yes, it important to point out that « least favorite » doens’t mean « don’t like », and at the end, i just want to generate interesting discussion on that restrained topic. Everyone have good reasons to chose either one or the other. And of course,i prefer Saint Émilion wines to many merlot wines fr...

For me, it is like when i tasted a Saint Émilion, the wine « got it or not ». Yes there are stellar wines for me, and some that seems to never make it for me. But i did not tasted everything in every vintages, different time of the years at all time of the day or night… at 5,10 or 35 yo. But i did n...

Maybe some bottles were off, or my nose/ taste being faulty… Something revelative : among 7 tasters, each one needs to rank his favorite 3 + one wine with a special mention, and the 2008 La Dom had only 1 or the 28 votes… normaly, when all wines are good, the voting is spreaded all over… not this ti...

The catastrophic Saint Émilion tasting Last Thursday, group tasting where we opened a few Saint Émilion... drank over a period of 3-4 hours. 2000 Château la Serre: one of the better wine of the group. La Lagune being not far from Margaux, i thought the 2015 is a very solid wine.

Did not had the 2020, but the only 2020 i had was very fruity too, it was the Le Gay at the 2021 UGC inMontréal. Itvwas a mistake and Le Gay presented it 2020 to the tasters, instead of the 2021.

Nice report on another 2019, the Lafon-Rochet. I have a tough time assessing when the 2019 will be at their peak, being kinda big ripe tannic slightly high alcohol wines…

I really liked the 2016. I had the 2020 as well, that was very young, but with a more flowery style.

Probably a British expression for gentle extraction like in tea... but longer infusion than tea to have some concentration.

I prefer an "infusion" vintage than a "transfusion" vintage : bleed the grape a maximum to make more wine?
