Only BWE'ers named Ian respond :D :D . That sums up my experience with Angelus more generally Jacques. I owned some of the 1994 and is exactly as you describe. I share your impressions about Angelus, Ian. I liked the 1998 as well, but have stayed away from every vintage since. A good BYO restaurant ...

Haven't had a Bordeaux in ages. TN 1994 Angelus

Lately, I have been reaching for mainly white Chablis and red St Joseph or just Village Bourgogne so in order to still justify that I belong to this esteemed group, and to celebrate the birthday of my son's fiancée, as 1994 is her birth year, I pulled out a bottle of the 1994 Angelus. We byo'ed this...

Trip to Barcelona, Rioja, Basque Region. Long

More of a travelogue than a wine post, and in truth it's because we really didn't want to go to high end on wines and just decided to order either an Albarino or a Txakolina when we wanted white and a Crianza or a Ribeira when we wanted Tinto. We did also enjoy the odd glass of Cava. Let's start wit...

In Israel for Passover:
2018 William Fevre Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume x 2 $68 per
2021 Domaine du Castel Petit Castel x 2 $36 per

The weakening Shekel makes for decent pricing when compared to the US market. We usually bring wine here, the opposite may happen this time.

I think 2004 Produttoris are still too young. I immediately regret opening them.
And yes 2012 is not the most fruit forward year. It's an old fashioned, recalcitrant, kind of vintage that will need a long time. 2011 and 2013 on the other hand are much more friendly.

Latour also has a 2nd wine they call Pauillac. I believe Les Forts is good enough to not be called a 2nd wine
I imagine the PLL Pauillac would be the 3rd as the Reserve de la Comtesse would be th 2nd
