Re: Saturday at the Convention

BD's blind WA 100 pointer tasted like a recent Napa cab even though it was the 10 Cos. I like many Napa cabs but this was not for me and many of the other wines on Sat kicked it's 100 point butt. After open in the bottle for an hour, the 59 Latour Pomerol was intact, with fruit, a little unbalanced ...

BD: 20 people drinking alcohol without masks in your hotel room. Closed door, low ceiling and probably no window. No one would fault you for changing that plan. We will drink plenty each night. Joel: I would think the 1 hour of pre-dinner drinks we already have for Fri at Bis is enough, no? Michael-P

Can someone please bring a Durand to Sat? I think my old bottles need it and I lost mine as soon as I bought it and have been too pissed off about promptly losing it and too stubborn to get another, yet.

Whatever happened to the guy (can't recall his name now) that was a wine humorist and VERY un-PC, talked about other wine critics and his young female asian assistant? Perhaps his humor was too un-PC and he got shut down?

Re: BWE DC '21, What are you bringing each night?

I pulled the wines for this trip over a month ago and promptly put them in the check-in box, and I can't recall what they are! Other than the 3 that belong to BD (I am a mule at BD's command), a couple of aged Bordeaux and I think a JL Chave blanc (late 90s), I really have forgotten. So it will be a...

Yes, that sounds the same.

But please try not to remind me about how I don't have the time, or in my case also the money to fix them all, to play with my cool cars. I recently had to move a few around and one of the tires was flat and not inflatable. Ugh! BTW, "Cool" IMHO.

70 Giscours - On another BWE post about Napa wine tastings I had noted that we had a guest visiting a few weeks ago. On that trip we went to some nice dinners with him and when he mentioned one of his favorites was Giscours, I went to the cellar to see what I might have. I could only find one 375 o...

It all depends on: A - How much you want to spend on tastings. I recently read the average basic tasting fee in Napa is $58. Reserve tastings cost more and tours with small food plates cost even more. We had a guest from India a few weeks ago and went to Napa where we had multiple $100 and one $150 ...

Depending on date and time, we would love to join. We need some advance notice to access the cellar.
We had a VCC 90 on a BWE zoom call a few months ago and it was very complex. I think I rated it a bit lower than it deserved because it grew in complexity and long finish after the call.

1 - Yes, try it now since you like infanticide.
2 - Try one every year until one case is gone. Then decide what to do with the second case.

Or sell or trade them to someone (MP?) directly to avoid auction fees.
