Re: white burgundy: what is the scoop on 2014?

Indeed very good year for whites. Bought some PYCM (Colin Morey) for the long haul as he does not seem to have much premox but also a few bottles of Fontaine Gagnard Batard (premox prone), Fichet and B Moreau. Reds did not seem to be long keepers at primeur tasting but usual suspects seem to have pe...

Re: President Trump

All to do with Trump. It is clear that in the coming 6 months, Republicans will rally around their candidate whether they like him or not convincing themselves that he will tone down and they will have some control with the House and Senate. He will keep the populist vote. That's a 55-45 minimum res...

Re: President Trump

Well, not sure... It now looks like Trump will get it and will actually beat Hillary (who ever thought a woman could be elected?...). Then, the Brexit vote will probably be decided on how the English football team performs at the Euro championship in June. Edge your bets! Ref US I cannot see what co...

Re: President Trump

Just think about the world if next year we have /have had:
- Trump US president
- UK vote Brexit
- France vote Le Pen or Sarko as president
then add
- Erdogan for Pope
- Putin Chief of the IMF for good measure...

The World would be in good hands!

Re: 2006 Ch Lárossee St Emilion GCC

I have the 2005 and 6 as Bettane praised them and "lighter"/"Burgundian" style of St Emilion appeals to me. I may need to taste them soon as I don't have a clue about their worth.

Re: President Trump

Could Trump nominate his latest wife to the Supreme Court or has it to be a professional?
I mean, if we get a clown as US president, why not get a sexy lady for Supreme Judge? With a supreme whip?

Re: Italian wines going down the path of Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the biggest region for fine wines by far so sets the market prices. Small actors took time to notice but are catching up. That's what you always observe in markets. Whether one considers Bordeaux overreached or not is irrelevant, the small fine wine regions follow through (in the case of...

Re: Neal Martin on 2005 Bordeaux

Good to hear as I have a lot of 2005 (although at mid range price level). I stayed away from 2009 and 2010 because of alcohol and price although when one sees Burg prices nowadays.... Ref 2003, I followed the crowd (Pontet canet, Montrose, Lafon Rochet, Branaire and Giscours) and ref 2002, I must co...

Re: Bordeaux 2015: Thoughts on the Bordeaux estates we visited

Thanks for your kind words Ian. We indeed had a great time including excellent/superb bottles from your favorite region. .. and an awesome cycling downhill the Ventoux following your lead... reaching 70 kph according to my speedometer as you appeared to be so keen to open your bottle of Mouton Roths...

Re: Bordeaux 2015: Thoughts on the Bordeaux estates we visited

Just had to register: It is not clos Salmone (the colour of the wine is light red rather than pink salmone) but Clos Salomon (as King Salomon). Great trip in Bordeaux it seems....did you ride the bike to burn the fuel? The Last year I bought Bordeaux by the truckload was 2005, so pity you did not ta...
