Re: Good Bourgogne is simply... good Bourgogne
Mugneret Gibourg and Grivot Bourgogne come from Luteniere in Vosne. Barthod and P Rion Bourgogne come from les bons batons in Chambolle. These I would recommend as they are excellent and terroir defined (although the Grivot is more silky and the MG more velvety...) I sympathise for silly prices... e...

JM Quarin has published his notes for the 1st growth 2020 and it appears that they come on average behind 2016 2018 2019 and 2015... but ahead of 2017. Still quite high notes...

I get the impression that speculators have taken over red Burgundy from top producers and prices can only go up without quality reason. To take one example, Mugneret Gibourg NSG Chaignots was great buy at 40-50£, it is now ridiculously priced... as for their Grand crus... excellent but grotesque pri...

No, this is not that simple and certainly not flexible, rather based on history as William reported. Clearly, grand cru can be declassified as 1er cru (Example: Musigny declassified as Chambolle 1er cru by De Vogue for wine from young vines). DRC entitled to declassify some La Tache as Vosne 1er cru...

I have a few Forey Gaudichots (08, 10, 12 and 15) and Petits Monts. Note these are not La Tache and cannot be as these Gaudichots are very small pieces of land on the outskirts of La Tache either above or below hence without the same soil, height....
