Re: TN: 2000 Barde Haut
This producer has received a lot of respect among BWE'ers for recent vintages - I actually have a couple bottles of the 2012 based on comments here. Tonight is about a different vintage of Barde Haut - the 2000. I bought six bottles after release for about $34 at the long ago defunct Sam's Wines in...

had the '06 last yr....I didn't think it was that great...lacked that pauillac goodness and something about the oak on the finish seemed cheap or phoney...drank two seperate bottles that night....I have 3 in the cellar (purchased w/o tasting) because it is my son Cage's birth yr.

1989 Lynch, 2008 Haut Brion and 2012 Margaux. The first for obvious reasons, but the latter two for sentimental reasons as they are my kids' birthyears and are slated to be gifts for them. I know the question asking for one bottle. But I took the liberty of listing 3 as all they are in one 3-bottle...

I've had a few other St Em's with 'Figeac' in the name and - at least to me - they don't all have the leafy notes of Figeac. Nicklass: B-D is a wine we rarely see comments on! Where's Ro...

I love the '03 now
my favorite is 1998...tasted it 8years ago...i didn't score it as high then because I was into more new world wines...it was a fantastic treat, my notes say red fruited with tapenade and coffee notes.
