Re: TN: NV Krug Champagne Brut Rosé (France, Champagne)

So Jay also had Edition 163 and it was fine.

My bottle had decent fizz, but not as much as a whole bottle usually has. Not sure if that’s related to the size or the cork.

No more halves left to try.

Re: TN: NV Krug Champagne Brut Rosé (France, Champagne)

Happy New Year. I too had a half of Krug MV, but the white. It was the 163 and I’ve had it for a few years. Shockingly weak, though. Not corked, but thin, too acidic for the meager fruit, not enough toast. I’ve kept it in the refrigerator though - could that be the problem? Serena Sutliffe advises a...

As Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Eye Balls, DavidG is very sophisticated. He requests a multiple regression analysis of the data.

Can’t argue with that.

But the study by Wine Talks is still interesting.

My local wine retailer asks that we return just the cork, not the bottle, to him for suspected corked wines. So what are your top 10 wines you tasted in 2018? They don’t have to be the “best” ones, just the most interesting ones that you will remember for years to come. New strategy for old age: buy much fewer bottles, spend way more per bottle. Result: spend even more on wine.

Châteaux in Bordeaux, as well as merchants located in Bordeaux, are often assumed to have perfect storage conditions, hence the sky high prices for older bottles “ex-Château.” Based on my one visit there that seemed to be true, at least for the super high end places. I use Coravin occasionally, mostly for young whites.

Buy keeping the bottle in the refrigerator both before and after Coravin, I have kept the wine perfectly fresh for several months. I am guessing you would be equally successful with young reds.
