Re: 2005 Haut Bergey and "The Bachelor."
Well the story rings true to me. I can be pretty gullible, but Jay actually met one of them. And it fits with Ehrlich's personality. Talk about genuine phonies! (Is that like jumbo shrimp?) Now what is it with you and these women? First HRC rubbing your thigh, then Jane Skinner (a Fox News anchor!) ...

All very good questions Jim, and I don't have any answers.
I must lack the requisite skepticism to be a simple country lawyer. It's probably a big lie spread by the Post, no doubt originating with Hillary Clinton. We need a special prosecutor. I think you may be just the man for the job!

And Jay saw them first hand... No one said Ehrlich was particularly bright about how he spent his precious campaign resources. Come to think of it, I can't recall anyone saying he did anything particularly bright during his administration. He didn't get indicted for or convicted of any crime, so tha...

I'm pretty sure I'm looking at the same stuff as Jim and Scott et al. I guess we see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear. Trump has had plenty of bad press, not saying he hasn't. But somehow a lot of the crap he's pulled that is similar to the stuff Clinton has supposedly done gets ig...

Chris, want to bet that the Clinton coverage will not mention one iota of her policy positions, but focus on some aspect of one of the made-up scandals or her health? Her policy positions are too reasonable and boring compared to Trump's chimpanzee-ish feces hurling sound bites.

The media, and not just Fox, has a huge vested interest in keeping it close to encourage viewership. I'm a true Maize and Blue fan but got so bored watching Michigan steamroller Hawaii on Saturday that I didn't last past the first quarter. The media knows the same holds true for Clinton v Trump. Pus...

I've done this with plastic wrap, and have seen it turn a DNPIM wine into an under-fruited mediocre wine after a few minutes of swishing a bunched-up wad of wrap in the glass. I think it binds enough of the TCA to make the wine more or less drinkable but does not come close to restoring it to a norm...

Mike Pence is more dangerous for domestic policy, Trump for foreign policy. I agree with this. My take is that Congress at least can be somewhat of an anchor on domestic policy. A loose cannon in the White House can quickly do irreparable damage internationally as there is very little Congress can ...

My age and the size of my current holdings would likely have held me back even if prices had been 20% lower.

Yeah, counterfeiting a GPL would be like counterfeiting a one dollar bill. I have never been particularly over- or under-whelmed by GPL. Sure, I can see big ticket items being a high risk for fraud, and I have no doubt that John Fox' lack of scruples would be no barrier to their sale. And I've read the stories about middling wines being counterfeited. But I kind of doubt that Fox was actively involved in fencing large volumes of midd...

I never paid much attention to Wine Enthusiast, but I agree in general with this article. It's no longer a guaranteed financial win to buy en primeur. It does depend, however, on which wines you buy and what time frame you're looking at. For the time period discussed in the article, 2005 forward, my...

I liked 2004 Angelus, Clinet and L'Evangile in 1994, though not up to par with their top years. Agree with Ian regarding Margaux and Latour. As with all vintage generalizations, there are exceptions. But I had more thin underwined duds than winners from 1994.
