Nice note on a great Sauternes that was rated 100 points and named Wine Spectator’s WOTY, Jimmy Suckling tends to over-inflate many of his scores but he nailed this one.

Nicely done all around. I loved that wine when I tasted it at the UGC yet still dragged my feet when it was in the $70 price range on futures and now I will have to buck up and spend the $20-$30 more per bottle.

Nice, can’t go wrong with Niellon and I think the labeling was slightly updated with the 2019 vintage which unfortunately coincided with some hefty year over year increases at least via our wonderful 3 tiered system of ripping us off.

Amen and that was Patrick’s wine of the UGC that year and while there were other wines I liked more, this probably did offer the most value for money. I am now sitting on 2 cases and have no doubt that one day I will kick myself for not having bought more.

Nicely done Ian and curious to hear your thoughts about the 2004 Lynch Bages as I found an attractive price in the wholesale channels which is well below market and would prefer your thoughts versus trying to form an opinion based on mixed cellartracker reviews.

4. Is it a wine from the Left Bank?

(Once we determine which bank, we should then determine the commune and then work towards winery)

1. Is it a wine from France?

(And so if I am not the next person that guesses, my intention was to try and continue to narrow down the region the mystery wine is from like is this a Bordeaux, then is it a Left Bank or Right Bank wine etc.)
