Hell no, it's not a bad thing! Some folks have a low tolerance for brett, but I'm not one of those. I always found it to be an interesting element to be enjoyed.

Bring on the funk!

Save me one Jim! I haven't drank this wine in 15 year as the couple vintages I tried at the time were thin and as Arv would say, swill. You've got me intrigued with your enablement!

Great line up Noah, that's a sexy picture! Like many - a big GL fan, and when it's at peak GL can be spectacular. I've been avoiding my last bottle of '86, any thoughts on how much longer that'll go?

Re: 2019, Calon Segur, Johnny Depp trial....

Early in the 2019 futures campaign at Zachys I had Lynch, Leoville Barton, Calon Segur, and Rauzan Segla all queued up in my cart at $79. I didn’t pull the trigger. Eventually the wines either all sold out or rose in price. I was able to get Rauzan Segla for $79 the other day. I previously got Mont...

Jean Fred - Total Wine (there are a number of them scattered around Boston suburbs) might be an interesting visit as well. Generally decent pricing and a broad selection at a number of price points. Also the selection at Gordons is pretty good - I generally shop at the one on Main St, Waltham.

2016 Sociando Mallet

Over the weekend - with a grilled NY Strip, with garlic herb butter (so good!), twice baked potato, haricot vert and grilled onions… 2016 Sociando Mallet – Deep nose of graphite, cedar, a bit of cigar box. With a couple hours in the decanter some cassis and blackberry start to come through, the wine...

Nice ruby color. Nose of high toned red fruits dominate with a bit and coffee. The wine is quite and pleasing, not overly done. My cellar is quite cold, so we'll see what changes as the wine warms to a more drinkable temperature.
