Re: Bordeaux in November 2021 - big report on several vintages!

Izack, I certainly appreciate the time and effort that goes in to planning an itinerary through Bordeaux. BWE's cancelled 20th anniversary tour for 5 days of bliss was tough to coordinate with lunches/dinners and tastings being put together for 20 people. I only arranged 4 dinners, 3 lunches and one...

Re: 89 Clerc Milon and Palmer, and musings on ageing Bordeaux

Thanks for the discussion Alex. For years I was a buyer of Clos du Marquis and enjoyed them thoroughly with last vintage purchased being 2002 when pricing started to rise here disproportionately and stopped buying. Still have a vertical from 95-02 that needs to be shared at some point in the future ...

For Those That May Need a New Bottle Opener

I was watching a show last night that had a piece on Marques de Riscal winery where they showed how they opened ancient bottles with no risk of getting cork in the wine. Never seen this one before and for your interest enjoy the YouTube video. I think it's an ingenious method and a fun short watch. ...

Not a lot of fun Jim. So far we've been lucky but lots of people around us have had it with mostly mild to moderate flu like symptoms. My concern are the reports of 5-60% who had covid develop some lingering seemingly unrelated symptoms....Long-Covid that seems more concerning and could be a worse p...

Jon,

We also enjoyed the 03 Pontet Canet over the holidays and certainly no controversy over this bottle. Drinking beautifully now with resolved tannins and exceeded expectations. What more can you ask for. Glad you enjoyed as well. Happy New Year!

The complexities and subtleties make me wanting more and certainly when the Burg's are on they usually leave a bigger imp...
