1880 Ramos Pinto Vintage Port from their library when I was ITB. Obviously my best Port ever and just stunning. Best dry wine, just too many to name one.

Working in a restaurant in college in the early 80's, it was a 1974 Barolo.
For Bordeaux, 1982 Poujeaux.

I would also like to see Covid numbers where Trump held recent rallies. Several in Nevada in the home stretch and our numbers are getting worse by the week.

I went long on 08 Le Cadeau PN. The Rocheux block is incredibly rocky with volcanic basalt up on Parret Mountain. I tasted there with owner Tom Mortimer and admired his diversification of blocks, clones, rootstocks and even separate winemakers for each block! This wine was a stunner. A very generous...

I am generally bullish on 13 OR PN and time is their friend for now. A warm vintage early on, then massive rainfall in late September that would not end. Some picked before the rain and risked under ripe fruit, while others waited out the rain or picked in the rain, or a combination. IIRC Mark V pic...

During the past 6 days there have been two fires within 3 miles of my house. Packed for evac again. First 10,000 acres and 150 acres on Friday night. Glenn, is it OK to post on other Oregon wines in this thread? Tonight I opened a 2014 Penner-Ash Pinot Noir to drink with sautéed mushrooms over turnip mashed potatoes. I have tasted 2014 Shea once and my experience with later vintages is nonexistent. Tonight I opened 2011 Vitae Springs. This is normally the base wine for Villages Cuvee along with young vine SVD. Red fruit, mushroom and savory spices on the nose with a hint of herb that later recedes. Initially lot...

My last 02 Anden, the lower portion of Seven Springs which was planted in 1982. Fully mature with mushroom and earthy savoryness. Well balanced with guiding acidity and a long finish. Especially nice with pan seared morels.

I have been exploring and enjoying Italian whites as of late. Tonight was my first Greco di Tufo. The wines from Friuli can be very detailed and interest...

I had 89 LLC twice. First after the release of the 90 in a mini vertical of 88, 89 and 90. All very fine or spectacular bottles. I ranked them 89, 90 and 88 then. The 89 second bottle was at a BWE offline at Arv's. WOTN for me. The 90 last year at Bill P's was a stunner.

Following Glenn's lead, I opened a 2013 SI Zenith tonight to drink with baked chicken, tabouleh, and green beans. Glenn's description is very good except that I don't get celery. I agree on this 13 not being fruit heavy. In fact until the body fills out with some air the acid is rather tart then it becomes more balanced.

Since a number of us are SI fans, I am stating a SI thread to combine notes and comments. 2013 Zenith Vineyard. Zenith is the old O’Connor vineyard and was replanted with the ownership change. Kumeu River always does well in blind tastings against white burgundy. Everybody gets fooled. 2010 Marques de Caceres Rioja Reserva. We drink Spanish wine at home maybe once or twice a year. We should drink them more often as it is difficult to find a similarly priced Bordeaux that is as satisfying as this Rioja. Also, while still quite young and full of tannin, this wine is more accessible...
