Re: 1998 Domaine du Pegau CdP Cuvee Laurence has been uncorked

This seem really good.

I remember the 2001 we had this summer with Sdr/Kathy and friends. It was a great wine. I really liked the dark berries character. It was a complex wine, that will deliver better goods in 5-10 more years. Concentration was impressive but not too much.

Re: Come see MichaelP, Nic, '95 d'Yquem, and more at DC '09!

Jim, I don't think more people will come, with me attending. I'm now a father : must be a good example for my daughter, serious, boring and not enough sleep. So in DC, I'll be sleeping 20 hours a day to catchup what I missed in the first months of 2009. I'll be at the main event from 7:00 to 10:00pm...

Re: Why are you not interested in Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines?

Hi Harry, so I will be able to see you in DC? I'll be really happy about that, as we missed a previous chance to meet in Germany. My souvenir of you, from the 2003 NY convention, is to far away. For me, Chateauneuf-du-Pape have sometimes a warm alcohol feeling in mouth and I don't appreciate that to...

TN of 2 bourgognes

Short comments on two bourgognes opened lately. 2001 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les murgers from Hudelot-Noellat : Again, a fantastic wine for me. Color is old rose petal. Nose if refined and complex, with an earthy mineral character, luittle red fruits (strawberries, red berries) and soft spices from...

I would be up for a Rhône or Bourgogne dinner on Friday. Any interested?

A Piedmont dinner could be really nice too.

I would be interested but, as I'm arriving only Friday, any chance to do the Rhône dinner on Friday night instead?

What? Whuzzup_ used his influence to bring Roberto to Burgundy? MichaelP was right in 2002, in Jim's Lincoln, we should have push him out of the car... Re: BWE DC '09 Saturday Blind Tasting

Just to let you know, I'm 35 so born in 1974. So you want wine pre-74? To keep it cheap, why don't we do a 1971-1972-1973 review? :-).

The 1989 Lynch Bages sounds good, as long as you don't put the 1988 VCC against it...

Re: 98 La Dominique has been uncorked!

I can imagine that the 98 La Dominique is very good. Thanks for reporting eric. It has been too long, since the last time we saw each other, at Steve H place.

The bad thing for me is that I have only one Right Bank from the 1998 vintage : Troplong Mondot. That's it. Too bad for me.

So Jim, more comments about those 2 big guys? I understand you very well. Me too, I am tempted every month to open a 2000. Hey, after all, they are already 8 years old. But I resist, and it is hard. The thing is that I opened a 2000 Chateau Potensac last year, and it was good but still closed. So th...

Thanks for that report Michael. Personnally I'm a fan of Vin Jaune, for their unique character. But I understand at the same time that they are so different from other wines, that someone can be uninterested. I brought a Vin Jaune at a BWE offline in 2002, to taste blind, and everybody around the ta...

The 2005 Chateau Latour

-Martillac. I bought a few bottles of that Pessac-Léognan, after reading good comments about it in La Presse (Montréal newspaper). And how a Cru Classé from the Graves, could miss their wine in 2005? Impossible. So the 2005 Chateau Latour-Martillac is totally genuine from the Graves area. No wet ear...
