1988 Pichon Lalande

Birthday dinner the other night with Orlando Bobby and the crew...My wine of the night was the '88 P. Lalande… Thought we had a dud here, the bottle looked in pristine shape, but the cork was a little faulty and expected the worst…no way sir, this was everything a classic Bordeaux lover seeks. Note ...

Guy looked young, too young to be so jaded and fed up with society.

Hope all is well over at the JH estate and prayers to the town of Lewiston.

1983 Talbot

Dinner at Osprey in Baldwin Park Been looking for a reason to pop this for sometime....Fall weather screams old Bordeaux and Burgundy. The cork slides out fairly easy with a standard ah so, and it's wet/soaked thru on the bottom 1/3....a small pour to start and the wine is left to sit open for a few...

'98 Gruard Larose

I had this 6mos. back and really enjoyed it...the group got together for Sunday brunch so I broke it out. This wine is def. peaking...I don't see this improving on any level, it's a lovely quaff, quite classic, earthy with pipe tobacco, sous bois and leathery notes, tannins resolved, medium body. Gl...

Nice, I have a '14 Clos Lambray...2002 is a lovely burg vintage...interesting fact.. some people think this is a monopole, but it's not... This is due to Merme Taupenot, they had a tiny vegetable garden that is part of the Lambray parcel and they ended up ripping it up and planting vines...so they t...

A few years back I had 2 '95 Pontet Canet in the same yr....one was amazingly expressive and classic....the other?....Hardly Nada Sometimes, do we blame the wine too quickly? And if it was the taster who had a different perception, because of a different mood? :o . No 2 barrels are the same
