I've had 3 bottles of the 96 Potensac over the last 6 months, and I'm in total agreement with you. The bottles simply didn't have anything for me to write home about.

Re: Led Zeppelin Wine Tasting at City Winery

David: Grover Jr is pretty good too. His appropriately-named Winelight album is another personal favorite.

Chris: Didn't expect to be able to BYO in live band places in NYC. I'd be glad to join you for a couple of beers or wine and some good live music.

Re: Led Zeppelin Wine Tasting at City Winery

Thanks for the notes Chris.
I have listened to Led Zep while sipping wine at home. I would have loved to do that while listening to a live band playing their music.

Re: 1989 Bordeaux tasting - October 17

I'll pitch in with a Prieure-Lichine, as well. It's not up there with the great Lynch-Bages-vs-the-rest-of-89-Bordeaux debate, but it'll up the Margaux contingent to 2. Exciting line-up so far!

Re: What's the latest on the 1996 Montrose?

I had this about 2-3 years ago and after remembering 2 days later that I had transfered and stored half of it in a 375 bottle in my refrigerator, I had the the wine and it still had some of that tannin that was all over when I first sampled it 2 days ago, but then it also showed some very good struc...

TN: 2000 Ch. du Tertre and 2000 Lafon-Rochet

TN: 2000 Ch. du Tertre, Margaux Well-balanced, with ripe yet firm fruit, slight hint of meat on the nose, smooth mouth-feel, a very good food wine and one that’s representative of the broad spectrum of a fine vintage. Popped-and-poured, this bottle was feminine, sexy and drank beautifully. It was p...

Re: 1989 Bordeaux tasting - putting out feelers

Thanks Jim. Happy to see everybody here.

Just catching up with the thread. I see that Montrose might already be in. I can dig out my last bottle of the 89 Palmer, instead.

Re: 1989 Bordeaux tasting - putting out feelers

So, this is where everybody went.

Ian, thanks for sending out a note to my personal email. Happy to be back in the fold, new password, registration and all.

I'm definitely in for this. I can bring a Montrose (if nobody's committed to one) and something else.

Thanks.
