Haven't had a the '96 Gloria, but I've really liked the '05, and '09 lately. Just bought the '14 and '15 too.

So-let's say you had $300 burning a hole in your pocket-would you buy (3) Gruaud, (3) Branaire, (4) Lagrange, or (4) d'Armailhac? Or some combo?

K&L brought a parcel of the '99 in over the Summer and sold it for $19.99.

I saw the '15 yesterday for $16 or $17-I probably should grab a case of that....

TN- '99 Lanessan

Opened with a simple Prime Rib Eye steak and mushrooms: Sheesh-what a nice bottle of Bordeaux. In a great place right now. A little brown at the rim-consistent with the age. Beautiful earthiness, leafy, Cherry. Seamless on the palate-a bit of mint, menthol, red fruits. Glad I have 9 left, will proba...

Interesting comment Jim. I do get a streamlined, linear feeling with this wine, but not robotic or boring. I could see how linear and robotic could have a similar impression. I get a nice richness here, this is in my wheelhouse.

TN-2005 Chevalier

I've really liked the 2014 version of the DdC, picked up some 2005's recently, thought I would give this a try. Older vintage, but the DdC signature is all over this. Opened for about an hour, enjoyed with a simple Wagyu filet. Really dark crimson, rich color, maybe a slight hint of bricking at the ...

Nice grabs Gerry... The '15 Haut Bailly-hide them from yourself for awhile. Very, very nice @ UGC, Very angry out of a 375 a few nights ago. Concentrated, precise, will be beautiful, but tough to like today. '14 DdChevalier-drinking pretty well now, and will get better with time. I opened a 750 with...

I don't think I had any bad wines at the St. Emilion table, they just all seemed odd and uninspiring compared to the Pessac, Margaux, St. Julien, Paulliac, St. Estephe, and even the Haut Medoc tables :). Thanks Nic. I did not try the Canon...I started with Beau Sejour Becot and found it odd, artificially sweet it seemed, Canon La Gaffeliere was underwhelming, La Couspade was a bit sour, and short.....I thought the Pavie Macquin was nice, good fruit and length, then stepped over the Valandraud, which...
