Re: So what have you bought lately?

Over the past few days, I have dabbled in a medley of Barolos and a couple of Barbarescos...Got tied up with 2016s and 2019s of bordeaux lately, but was finally able to push through with my 2016 barolo purchases...Since 2016 is a great vintage, I went broadly instead of going deep on few... It's har...

2017 Dom. Vaudoisey Volnay Les Mitans

2017 might not be as heralded as 2015 or 2016 vintages, but I started to like these. Don't know anything about this producer, but inspired by Jal , I purely went on Volnay 1er name, and a 35 dollar price tag. I figured I can't get a Premier Cru for 35 bucks anyway these days. So why not? So much so,...

Ha, you are good! This wine is lovely! It is nothing like the other 2018s I've had. And I'm not here to criticize the 2018s. I just found this Cantemerle light on its feet, smooth, medium bodied, and "only" 13.5% alcohol. Very lovely and velvety, young but definitively Margaux/Haut Medoc....

I liked the L-Martillac BD. I expected it to be a big wine, but it checked the alcohol at 14% and it’s not too bad considering the balance it had in fruit and acidity. I also felt it nicely represented the terroir characters although I admit I had some reservations at first. My main 2010 stash is Me...
