Re: President Trump

We were so tired of hearing about all the crimes committed and condoned and denied that we skipped the debate and watched a couple of episodes of Better Call Saul.

Re: So what have you bought lately?

I find it simpler to put funds into a MM account that yields at least 5%, especially since we will probably need a lot of cash at some unknown time in the fall. But the yield I get in MM is a bit less than what I could get in T-bills.

So sorry for you people who have suffered from long covid. Our immune compromised daughter had problems for a long time from the mild case of pre-vaccine covid she contracted while doubly masked at a medical facility. Glad to hear this, Danny. Historically I preferred Lafite to Mouton but liked D'Armailhac and Clerc-Milon more than Duhart. Your post tempts me to buy some younger Duhart. Love to have another excuse to buy more wine.

I’ve been sorely tempted by the 14 Canon multiple times but I’ve always held back. We need an ITNOS note on one of those once shipping season arrives

I'll get these in November, probably. With a case it makes sense to try one this year or next.

Yes, Ian; my advice to Patrick was based on drinking 2005 Sociando this past year. It is certainly OK for drinking now, but I prefer to hold and drink 2003 now.

Re: The 2005 Vintage -- how good is it really?

D'Armailhac is slower to develop than usual, but is pretty close to being there. I will continue to store the few I have left in my warmer storage (64F in the summer).

Best to hold the 2005 Sociando and enjoy the 2003 now. Actually, I think it is time to drink up all but the fanciest 2003s.

Gosh, I rarely drink Sociando that is less than 10 years old, and it is usually better at 20. Is the 2014 that much different from the usual Sociando?

Which vintage of Heritage 4, Mark? By coincidence, I am drinking a 2015 Heritage 4 right now with mushrooms and hangar steak. This is an excellent and very pure PN. Sure, it will not hit its peak for probably ten years, but it provides a lot of pleasure now.
