Sacramento Offline

Well at the risk on starting a war, I am having a bbq wine dinner. Saturday, October 6 at my house in Sacramento. Glenn is coming as is Arv. I don't know about Jenn. It looks like 82 revisit. I'll probably smoke a brisket or maybe a standing rib roast. If you area in the area, you invited. Email me ...

Oahu has many very good wine shops. Maui is next and tied for last is Hawaii and Kauai. Strangely I love Hawaii and Kauai the most.

Hey Glenn, glad your last bottle was a great one. Tell me when you want to come over the hill so I can tempt you with some unhealthy bbq. Well invite Jenn and Arv for another evening of relaxation.

Art, glad this is happening. I know we'll see each other in the next few years. Next year is Kauai and I am hoping the Big Island for 2014. Maybe it's time to add Oahu to the mix. Enjoy.

The Merrie Monarch is the State of Hawaii hula competition, party, get together in Hilo every April. It's a world famous competition. When I met Mr. and Mrs. Hound last May on the Big Island, he thought he would go this year because he was unable to get tickets last year.

I am willing to duel anyone who disrepects Mr. Vino's wife. If she would not let you copy her sheet, she had a good reason.

From afar, DC has been good to us.

Be safe on the home. I need notes!

I understand there is no universal palate. That the same wine can taste differently from different bottles. That not all people like the same styles. I've had the 2003 PC about 5 times since its release. Yes, I like them young and old. It's also true, my wine acumen pales in comparison to most on th...

Re: Question re Montille Burgundy wines.

As you know, Potel no longer owns his name. I believe the last vintage under his hand was 2007. His new venture is Maison Roche de Bellene Beaune. I've tasted a few 09s and across the board they are not as good as the 05s. Now this is not to say that they are bad or not worth the investment. My advi...

Thanks Mike. I've have had a few bottles of 1982 Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste Pauillac between 1984 and today, and it has always been a winner. As I recall it was priced around $12.00 upon release. Truly a QPR for all ages.

It appears that the DRC lots have been withdrawn from the auction. What I don't know is, are other bottles from different wineries being sold (that came from the same source as the DRC)?
