Thanks David for taking one for the team. I for one am not giving up on the vintage but I agree, so far it's been a mixed bag. I do believe the vintage needs more time.

2014 La Lagune

Decided to pop a 2014 La Lagune to see if I should make a larger investment. On the nose there is cedar, blackberry, earth, hints of leather and a subdued floral component. The wine was closed for the first two hours before opening up to show a medium plus bodied wine with good concentration. Roundi...

James, all benevolent dictators need a sense of humor and to appreciate one. I think you realize that I'm joking. There is nothing in the wine world that outrages me. I'm outraged. When is California a wine region? Despite the obvious troll, Burgundy is number two. I'm not even sure that Napa is my third. ;)

I purchased 4 a few months ago. I've consumed 2 other bottles over the last year. It's a lovely wine. Accessible now but will improve with moderate aging. I also bought a 2014.

Aging and Fine Wine, It’s not what you think.

A response to my comment about the 2015 vintage led to this post. This is not meant to be depressing or elitist, it’s merely a summary of where I am and maybe others are or soon headed. I thought I had enough wine sitting in the cellar but after a few years of drinking but not buying, I’ve concluded...

No it was "real" wine. Probably much like fishing, the value of the evening wines increased each time the story was told. Still, it is obvious from the movie that they had money to burn.

Sour Grapes is on Netflix now, if you haven't seen it, you should. It was an interesting movie but I must admit that other than ponsot, there's not a lot of sympathy that one feels for the victims or the criminal.
