Re: John Fox update link.

Blanq, my experience with some Ponzi criminals, they start out legit, the business model isn't sound, but they think, just one more round and I'll pay everyone off. Of course, after one more round he's deeper in the hole. I'm not sure this is the case with Fox. From what I've read, he liked his life...

My deepest regret on this board was defending this okole (a-hole) early against those who warned it was a probably a scheme.

Jim, I have no information other than articles, but my take is - this was a method of life-style augmentation. Just pure greed.

1. Beware walking the path of French Burgundies, it is full of landmines. 2. The best burgundies take an equal if not longer time to age than Bordeaux and Corton is the worst. 3. To agree and disagree with David G. Cali Cabs did not age well. In the late 90's that changed. However as David said (or ...

I have about 175 bottles. Probably 45% are Bordeaux, 27% Burgundy, 8% Cali Cabs and 10% Oregon Pinots. The rest are ports and a few German wines.

I don't expect to top 200 bottles given my situation.

This is the end, my only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes, again

It can't be that bad. ;)

Fun night last night. Glenn had to cancel because of the Trans-Sierra commute was less than ideal. 2003 GPL. Certainly this is disappointing when compared to the 1982 GPl. Still, I thought is was a very enjoyable wine. It showed no signs of 2003 heat taint. In fact it was the opposite. It was a medi...

Thanks one and all for the good thoughts and advice. I have an appointment with my Cardiologist to discuss future treatment as some have described. Had one and 3/4 glasses of CdR last night without problem (with the doctor's approval). Life is change, how we differ from the rocks.

I just spent the last two days in the hospital for afib heart disease. Will be on meds for the rest of my life. 2013 Clos Du Val Cab

Much has been written about this wine of late due to the 94 point rating. I thought I'd give it a go last night. I purchased the wine for $21. The nose was quite muted. Some flora hints and earth. I suspect with time it will be more forthcoming. The structure is very nice. Good concentration balance...

As most know Alfred and Melanie Tesseron of Pontet Canet purchased Robin Williams house and vineyard in Napa. I wonder if we could rent it out for the Saturday event and carter the dinner? Don't we have connections with him? We could also have a PC vs. Califorina opening event. Just a thought. Bill

So your next big decision is location. SF: great food and hotels, fun city. Also expensive and far from the wineries. Sonoma: Great wineries, some fun restaurants, less expensive, decent accommodations. Napa: Great wineries, fine restaurants, very expensive, limited accommodations and usually pricey.

Wine and Age. A small rant.

I find myself in a wine funk. No it has nothing to do with drinking the juice, it’s buying and restocking that has me floundering. I’ve been buying since 1980 but I was never a power buyer. At my peak maybe a few hundred bottles of which 95% were Bordeaux. (I still have six bottles from 1982 that I ...
