Re: Haaaaa, Bourgogne wine

On the same page with Jim and going with La Tache. Years back for my 50th I went looking for one and couldn't believe the price at the LCBO so I never pulled the trigger and have regretted it since. Can't even remember what I bought/drank for the occasion but I'm sure good or bad the La Tache would ...

Jim, I don't know HOW you drink them so young Regardless you enabled a 1st sampling of my 2010 6 pack tonight. Great nose of cassis and bing cherry. On its own the tannins are still very present and puckering to drink alone before dinner even with a 1.5hr decant. With the braised beef roast this was...

Let's push it a little later than March this time if possible. Late April or early May? would likely work better like 05/15. Just a thought in planning.

Likewise David wrt Salon. For some reason the LCBO was clearing out the 96 Salon and my buddies and I each bought a case. Jim,

Thanks for taking us back down memory lane. Great memories except for that 2013 LL which I'm happy to have experienced the wine and would be interested to revisit it one day to see if our impression was correct but it still makes me wince thinking about it at this time!

Some great bottles Comtes. The 2000 Pontet Canet never disappoints in a modern kind of way but in a similar ilk as Pichon Baron. The 89 Leoville Barton we had in Montreal a ways back was singing and hopefully yours was as good. Duhart has been flying under the radar by comparison to many surrounding...

Nic, Haven't tried this one in years but good not great sauvignon blanc from Mission Hills for my style. Still crisp, clean and unoaked so a friendly wine with reasonable acidity if I recall. That 82 La Lagune that Jacques brought to FLL 2 years ago competed admirably the the rest of the 82 1sts lined up for the night and was certainly in the top 2 or 3 for most if I recall.

Belated Happy Anniversary Alex/Christine. The DdC was a perennial favourite through the 90s but the few experiences through the 2000s reflect possibly the change in consultant. I'm not averse to the modern style and still love the wine when I get my lips on it. Sadly none in the cellar anymore.
