Sounds like a wine to look forward to drinking in my '70s.
I managed to snag three shortly after release for about $70. Probably not gonna open the first for at least another 5 years.

Re: Bordeaux QPR - 2nd Growths
Based on a small sample size I'll go with Rauzan-Segla as offering the best overall qpr among second growths.

I like Talbot for its consistency across vintages, and I think it's in the top quartile of 4ths for overall quality.

If you pour them into one decanter will the wine taste more like recent vintage offerings?

Re: RIP Sir Richard Latham
I just didn’t like having to read and then reread about the superiority of his unique QPR system with every post as it started to feel like a broken record, but with that said, sad to hear of his passing. So Chris, how was the 2010 La Dame? It was a shame that he didn't adjust to the forum environm...

RIP Sir Richard Latham
The old baronet passed a few days ago. His short presence here created quite a stir but he was passionate about drinking the best Bordeaux he could. This morning I decanted a 2010 La Dame de Montrose to drink in his honor tonight. RTP had a huge quantity of young Domaine de Chevalier in his cellar b...

1988 Haut Marbuzet. Another excellent, fun bottle of wine from my friend's cellar. He came by in his 4cyl 914 to show me some new things he did, and have me help with a throttle limit adjustment. The bottle had been left in advance - so it wasn't shaken by the ride. This wine features a prominent wo...

Re: 2018 Haut-Bages Liberal.
$50 at Saratoga Wine Exchange right now.
I see on Cellartracker that MickleThePickle gave it a 92 a couple days ago along with a hearty endorsement.
My impression was that HBL was a perennial underperformer, so I haven't bought any to date.
But maybe there's been a revival at the chateau recently.

You can count me a fan of Siran. It looks like they upped their game beginning with the 2014 vintage. I have a case of 2015 and only one bottle of 2016 remaining. I'll pass on the 2018 but will be on the lookout for a few 2019. I drank a 2015 Siran and Labegorce just a few weeks ago. Quite different...

2015 LB vs. RB
Last night I met a new wine friend. We friended on Cellartracker, and it turns out we live less than 5 miles apart. We got together at my shop in the evening to share a bottle of 2015 Cantemerle from my cellar and a 2015 Tour Saint-Christophe from his cellar. We enjoyed the wine with a couple duck l...

Thanks for the review. I have a copy in my bookcase which I read thru the first half or so a couple years ago, and use now occasionally as a reference. Although he doesn't cover a good many of the estates I purchase from.

Not buying anything expensive or adding more wine to age right now, while I wait for my 2019 EP purchases to arrive. Just refilling the short term drinking supply. The first 4 are re-buys. The Paloumey is excellent. The Les Grands Marechaux is one of the best under $15 Bordeaux I've ever had. I'm no...

2018 Château Larose-Trintaudon - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (5/18/2022) PnP, drank over two evenings. Right out of the blocks this showed well, juicy ripe fruits with herb and mineral overtones. On the second evening the fruit had settled down a little, showing more of the tannins. At this...
