Thanks for the vivid notes Ian, and happy to see you continue to drink well! A couple of favorites in there. The Chetillons I’m happy to still have a couple of bottles. The Conseillante is sadly gone from my cellar. I wasn’t yet turned on to Haut Bailly when the ’98 was released, sounds like a winner!

Lovely stuff🤟 Yes, I was pleased to pick them up. That said, I opened one up over the weekend and was surprisingly disappointed. Not sure if it is because the wines weren't stored as well as stated at the auction, or whether it's just going through an awkward phase? Will hold the other one for a la...

Encouraging note Danny. Has Monbousquet dialed back the oak and ripeness since the days of max Parkerization? I used to be a regular buyer of Monbousquet. Agree, unlikely to be the Estate, which is usually in the $175-200 range.

Yeah, funny that the vote is so lopsided yet so many who have commented said they preferred Geyserville by a tiny margin. I suspect if we all scored them on a 100-point scale, it would come out something like Geyserville 94.6, Lytton Springs 94.4. I wonder if there’s a simple way to look up an avera...

That price looks good, CV; only about $2/bottle. Even if the price has tripled it is much better to ship than to sell and rebuy. Bill, are you asking whether to move the wine or how to move the wine to OR? That’s a trickier question than what to do with the storage cabinets. I would keep the storage cabinets in OR - you’ll eventually need them - and wouldn’t worry about whether you use them now or later. Whatever’s convenient...

I agree with Jim that 2015s cost more because they got higher scores from critics, and that those scores were higher because the wines were riper than 2014s. I don’t share the apparent disdain for people who actually like that style. The secondary market continues to value most 2015s more than the 2...
