Re: ***BWE Hotel: Washington Hilton***

The **** Dupont/National Zoo now on Hotwire again for $73/night is the very same Hilton Washington.
Those of you who book at $73 have more money to spend on wine.

Amenities are listed Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet.

Re: BWE 12 in DC - hotel

The Wash. Hilton is the place I saw on Hotwire a few weeks ago for $95 that seemed to get no love......But it would certainly be a good backup so you can consider making refundable reservations and see what i turn up in the next few weeks.

Re: BWE 12 in DC - hotel

The last weekend of March is projected to be peak cherry blossom weekend. So far, there are no options better than the one I posted a couple of weeks ago (above, and which has expired).
Peak hotwire/priceline time is over the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned.

Re: BWE 12 in DC - hotel

No. Hotwire is non-refundable. so if you book now, that's where you will be. and what is available now on Hotwire won't likely be what's available in 2 weeks.

Please post to the forum if you reserve on Hotwire.

Re: BWE 12 in DC - hotel

I have a lead. If you go to Hotwire.com and fill in the hotel dates of 3/29 - 4/1 you should get the image attached as a result. The circled result in Dupont should be the Washington Hilton & Towers. It get's OK reviews, and I there will likely be a better option in February as we get closer to ...

Re: BWE 12 in DC - hotel

Guys: The only way this will happen is when I am able to determine the pricing on priceline based on results from others (outside BWE). I am tracking this, but timing is simply not something I can control. It could be next week, and it could be toward the end of February. If we do not have something...

By some good fortune, I believe I will have access to a stash of '94 Fonseca Vintage Port for aboout $110/bottle from a local retailer's closeout sale. More than I need.
If you are attending BWE 2012 and want any, just post your email below. If they have extras, I will email you back.

Re: BWE 12 in DC: Saturday dinner 3/31

I don't care enough to make a point of it. The 3 most important things are, of course, the people, the people, and the people, followed by the wine in 4th place. The food at CP was pretty good, but I thought it was unimaginative and somewhat pricey (for what it was). I will check with Tosca to see i...

There was no labeling mistake, but it is possible that at least 1 of the Lynch Bages was damaged. B was liked by many (not me) and the differential between 1st and 3rd was IIRC, less than 5 points out of 70+.
