The VT is an excellent 07 CdP - I have drunk 3 already....thought i was had a case but then realized i split it so I am down to 3 left. It is clearly a 93 - 95 pt wine. Your price is about what I paid for it.

Harry I have read your book cover to cover..........don't give me a test but I really enjoyed it used it to research some 07 CdPs ....I had read Mourvedre was very good in 07 and had remembered you had noted a few wines that were made with large % Mourvedre so I just went and found that in your book...

I have been saying eventually the prices have to come down bankruptcies - wine merchants/large collectors divorce forced sales people w/o jobs needing to pay for mortgages drinkers/collectors like us just unwillin gto pay the higher price waiting for Bordeaux prices to come down etc Of course I have...

I heard that some big Bordeaux importer is dumping their wine and getting out of the bordeaux market
Chris Loxton said he was expecting this will cause prices to drop dramatically??

we will see


I keep wondering if the allure of Bordeaux globally helps keep price up compared to other regionss

We had dinner at the Fig Cafe where we all had dinner on the Thursday night at BWE 06

Chris can tell some stories.......we spent most of our time discussing French wines and his stories in France
He loves CdPs which does not surprise me and has a lot in his cellar

I have yet to pick up any 07 Vacqueryas though many other 07 CdPs and CdRs

as a small producer I may not be able to fine but sounds like it is worth looking for

Very nice end of Harvest lunch at Loxton tasting out all his new wines The Archer Syrah is a new one and was my favorate - I would describe as much like the 07 CdRs ....wonder why I like it:) Sitting outside back at the hotel outside on the deck after a drive to the coast and a look at the redwoods....

Try suaternes with crab or lobster(dipped in warm butter) at beginning of meal as a starter.........it will get you off to a great evening

Alex - very nice notes....that I can use when i need to decide which sauternes to pull out Decanting Sauterenes - tell me more..........I have never done that ...should I and when do you decant a sauternes and for how long.........I like sauternes cold so it seem as if that would be a consideration ...

I cann't agree more on S Rhone's .the qualtiy of the $12-17 has been amazing David is right buy one open it and if you like it go back and buy a case if you do not dump it out (life''s to short to drink bad wine - especially at $15)....I have not dumped any out ....there are a few that I have had to...

my bottle went astray - day 2 was terrible......just flabbly i think I may have not vacuum sealed it ....I am guessing that is it vs a flaw in the wine Hound while I have not tried the Caillou.......i doubt you can go very far wrong with the 07s a very interesting point is that you do not need to sp...
