Re: Is Gruaud Cordier brett a bad thing?

I wondered in Noah's thread given his comment about lack of brett, does this mean it will eventually vanish given time? I think a novice drinker might confuse a wine with brett as corked.

So the famous Cordier "funk" was not in the room? Some might call it brett. Great tasting!

We've been mulling renting a place in France next year, in part to celebrate mrs vino's transition (not using the R word) from 20 years at her organization. It would be nice to join the group for some tastings.

I opened another 2000 SM the other night. Served with grilled tuna and chicken. Yes, there was a hint of green, under ripe fruit but the gorgeous cascade of rich flavors made this bottle a great drinker. Could age be diminishing the almost overwhelming greenness found in some bottles????

The year of incredible heat in Europe. Thousands died including many in non air conditioned nursing facilities-never saw much investigation of this calamity. So, I wasn't enthusiastic about this vintage in Bordeaux.

Yes, you have to be hip like Mr. Vino to know who Lenny Breau was, Claudius. We cool people extend our horizons beyond Jimi Hendricks and Eric Clapton. Although, I liked the Super Bowl hip hop half time show this year and I think Mr. Vino was surprisingly down on it, I thought a hipster like that c...

Wow, Lenny Breau. A sad sad life but an incredible talent. I have a recording with Tal Farlow that really swings. I saw him in college playing his seven string guitar at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.

The bottle of 82 Montrose wasn't in the best of shape, mid shoulder fill and a completely saturated cork that came out in two pieces. My father thought it wouldn't improve as the sharp tannins were overwhelming the fruit. I've had this a few times and always thought it should have been a better wine...
