MichaelP famously hates Pinot Noir. The issue is going to be theming and sticking to it. Historically we are very informal on Friday nights so folks like MichaelP and hm$ who hate pinot can join in too. Most of us love Burgundy :)

I would guess it is supply chain. If it was just one outfit (like Premier Cru), then it sounds fishy. If it is everyone, then its something else. Especially if NH is also not getting them since they have none of the NYC issues.

For me its a combo. I like blowout dinners every once in a while. Tim's 50th birthday was epic and I'll never forget it. And we had the 1989, 1953 and 1928 Haut Brion all together! Lisa and I had MichaelP and Nalan over for dinner last night. It was a treat to see them - it had been far too long. We started by trying a MichaelP mystery wine. I've had the 1964 VCC and your notes look spot on. I found it much more reserved that other top 1964 right bankers.

My exposure to 1953 right bankers is slim but the very few I've had have been great. I don't think I've ever had a 1949 at all.

2000 Chasse Spleen is very tasty and great value. Nothing spectacular but tastes like old fashioned Bordeaux with good fruit and great balance.
