In the past year I have tasted the '99 D'armailhac twice....one was incredible the other just good. The '00 once, a very nice showing And an '01, not as robust as '00 of course but it contained all the nuances I look for in a classic Pauillac. This is a great Chateau for the tariff, but nothing tou...

Had the 2000 'aria' a couple years back...was never stored, just pulled str8 from the retail shelf....was clearly a bit tired with mild oxidation...though u could see some nice material underneath. I am sure it was nice in its youth.

2010 Chateau Pibran

Pop and pour
A bit shy initially, but slowly unfolded
Loved the crisp red fruit, some nice snap to it, then green olives start poppin' and graphite notes emerge...good tannin structure noticed on the finish...I enjoyed this quite a bit.

My first Pibran but definitely not my last

Haha!! Yes it izz!! in fact...right now I am drinking another wonderful Goulet type wine...2001 D'armailhac....a bit worried at first...runner up the cork, light sign of seepage...mold covered the top like a bad toupee...tart, bitter and a bit closed upon opening....once this baby took in its share ...
