Re: 2012 Les Hauts de Smith
I like this wine quite a bit but at the price here $39 it's a pass
It has nice pessac character and form structure
If this was $25 I would be an extremely happy drinker.

Hahaha...no someone else brought the '03 Pavia, Bobby brought the '04 and I brought the '99
None of the bottles were very exciting.....I probably would have voted pre-perse Pavie as the better choice

Very good wine, just had it the other day....and I prefer it to 2010 Also just popped a 2nd label 2012 Le Petit Haut Lafitte....had good structure, firm tannin on the finish...takes 10-15min. to open up...nice pessac expression...stones and lght smoke detected Though I feel Clos Marsalette is better...

Re: Is Jeff Leve the New "Right Bank Robert Parker"?
RobertG... No, I do not turn into a dud when it comes to the Left Bank. It is about the wines, not me. Read my effusive praise for Margaux, Pessac Leognan and select Pauillac wines in 2015. You can see the same high energy for many St. Estephe and Pauillac wines in 2014. One other point, at least f...

I like some young Bordeaux very much so, but then you taste a wine like '82 Talbot and it unapologetically smacks ya punk ass around and declares "that's why you drink your Bordeaux with some age on it bitch!!" That's how I felt....I think that's why people chase that unicorn

I did like the '96 GPL but the '95 is a notch above
'12 du tertre was just OK a year ago, but I think these '12's are getting better in the bottle so I will reserve judgement.

It's good not sure if it's great Had the clos marsalette '12 last night.....a wonderful nose, minerals minerals minerals, stony, dark fruits, on the palate there is not much complexity, but the crisp acid gave it a nice lift. The wine went down so easy that it kept me returning for another pour. Not...

Love Talbot!!! My last note with O.Bobby 1982 Talbot.... An absolute epic bottle of Bordeaux. An earthy beast loaded with secondary and tertiery notes. Initially, I'm getting slapped in the mouth by an old worn cat of nine tails, very nice...followed by earth, smoke, dusty red fruits. On the palate,...
