BWE Dinner-Friday April 3rd-Dino-dc dot com
Starting the thread. Please let me know if you would like to attend as there are 2 rooms-one private and one semi private that holds more people. My plan is to arrange a set price menu with choices with an inclusive price of tax, service, and corkage.

Re: Bordeaux column in the Washington Post today
I bought my first Bordeaux at Pearsons. The 82 Ch. les Moines, du Cartillon, and Brahme les Tours. I think they were $4.99, 5.99 and 6.99, respectively. Obviously, they made some impression on me. Even then I desired a bargain, and frankly a bargain was necessary. It's becoming that way again. Good...

Thanks Ian...82 Montrose has always been disappointing to me given the vintage, maybe its improved. I bought a case of the 97 Pichon Baron for $300 and have enjoyed every bottle, still a couple left. Krug is Krug and the MV ages so nicely.

La Crau is old school so better decant that one for a while. The 98 in a 375 was pretty tannic last year-great wine thoughJimHow wrote:I'm going to be uncorking a 2006 Vieux Telegraphe "La Crau" tonight, Harry, in the name of science....

This was a delicious wine-balanced with lots of rich, sweet (but not too sweet) flavors of blackberries and currants with a full mouth feel and integrated tannins on a fairly long finish. To me, this is near maturity and drinking extremely well right now. Excellent
