Jim, if you are arguing an equivalence between LBJ and Trump.......I'm stunned to say the least. I would never argue the economic benefit the office brings between speaking fees, board memberships, book deals or whatever but this is corruption at a level unseen previously in our history. Politics is...

Re: 2014 Rauzan Segla

I forgot about the gift card impact. I guess it all depends on whether or not you want to take the savings earning the gift card or on the redemption. I chose the later. Based on a $25 card for every $150 spent it would bring the bottle cost down go to $50 if you take it up front. I remember spendin...

I've had it four times and rated it 94-96 each time. I have eleven bottles left with no rush to drink. As good as it is, I'm hoping my case of 2016 is as good or exceeds it.

We were last there in 2019 in October right before Covid hit. I second Ed's rec of Roscioli Salumeria. It's consistantly fully booked early and I'd highly recommend trying to book asap once you know your dates. We stayed in the ghetto and it was pretty well located to walk everywhere. Nothing earth shattering but happened upon some 2019 Ch Pontet Canet at Costco today. I haven't really been a big fan since last buying the 2005 vintage but for $90/btl I felt compelled to pick up a couple.

Portsmith and the highway stores might be good but over my way in Nashua it's pathetic.

Off the top of my head the only thing Im gunning for is Krug NV. I dont know if its 169 or 170 but with the sale it would net to $133/btl. That is easily the best price in the country.

Due to the gift cards the cost gets a little hazy but best I can tell the cost came in around $90 with the 15% but before gift card redemption. The $75 cost is if you factor we received $75 in giftcards for every 5 bottles of LB we bought.

Gerry keeps track of that Joel. My memory is that it was priced very low, then we got 15% off, then we got an additional $25 gift card for every $150 spent. All tax and shipping cost free, of course. Sorry I missed this earlier. After the 15% it netted to $68 bottle but we also got the $25 gift car...

Re: I still say there is something fishy going on with the supply chain of 2019 Bordeaux.

I have to believe, at least for NH, it is a distribution issue. While Zachy's and Sherry Lehman are retailers whose financial stability may be questioned, NH is run by the state. Also, NH's main supplier is Southern Wine, the largest distributor in the US. If Southern is in trouble then that's a big...

The 2016 Ch Charmail is really impressive for a $19 bottle.

I'm sadly suspecting that the Georgia Senate race is the bell weather for the night. Early voting gave Warnock a lead but now the election day vote is swinging back to the Republican ticket by a 38% margin. Ughh.
