Re: Notes from a Patriots-Jets tailgate

The Jets still have to play Indi and Cinci which I can't see them winning. I'm not even sure they can beat Atlanta. I would predict the Jets end 7-9 (maybe 8-8). The only team the Pats should have trouble with is Jacksonville and I think they're playing in Foxboro where the Pats are 6-0. Miami has t...

RE: cooking with corked wine. I agree it doesn't really make sense, but empirical evidence suggests the TCA is no longer detectable in the finished dish. Re: Question on cooking "cooked" Burgundy wine

I agree with the ok to cook with. You''re boiling the wine in the cooking process anyway and this bottle would still probably be better in the dish than a really cheap bottle of plonk. I've heard that even corked wines are ok to cook with. The cooking process appears to get rid of the TCA, although ...

The psychologists will tell you that it is very difficult to eliminate subconscious influence in situations like this, but it's hard to deny your own senses. And in the end, aren't your own senses what wine appreciation is all about? Maybe I’m just in a philosophic mood this morning, but if you enj...

I was first out this game and frankly it isn't fun going out early. I became permenant dealer for one of the tables just so I had something to do. Once a few more people get knocked out we usually start up a low cost side game or play Wii or PS3.
