Another 2000 SM last night and it may have been the best bottle yet-decanted through a filter and it sat for an hour or so. I bought a couple 2019 La Lagunes at, of all places, Trader Joes in DC. Price was $50pb, IIRC. I think this estate continues to be fairly priced in the world of classified Bordeaux.

We were in NYC over Thanksgiving and I agree the city is rockin'. Our group enjoyed a visit to Birdland to see their house big band. Interesting post and thank you Ian. Father Stefan shared an 82 LL at a dinner several years ago. It was in a good place then. I've had the 82 Montrose several times, none of the bottles were what I would expect from a second growth in this great vintage. Compared to an 82 LLC for example. I have one...

and in local news, a demo was elected for the first time as our local state senator-Russ Huxtable. We went to a meet and greet a few months ago and liked what we heard. He's spent a lot of his career working on affordable housing.
