Re: President Trump

I'm less worried about the Rs and the Ds than I am about the country. Trump is spectacularly unqualified for the job.

I would expect abortion to be outlawed in about 25 states once the SC overturns Roe. Take a look at the electoral college map. If you live in a red state and get pregnant, odds are good your options will be limited.

I took a 1977 Taylor Port to a dinner in Chicago last month that was badly corked. I'd been looking forward to opening it for many years. Very disappointing.

Hound, sorry about the flip comment above. Too soon... Still feeling shell-shocked and a little frightened. Let's see if there is a Fed in February. Looks like a buying opportunity. I thought it would be close, but I'm stunned to see Trump win. And with an R House and Senate, the Supreme Court appts... I really fear where we are headed. And when Trump doesn't deliver jobs and prosperity, how will the tick...

Comey has to go. He was unprofessional, broke protocol, and acted against the recommendation of the AG in releasing his intentionally vague letter that was clearly designed to damage Clinton. I think she'll pull out the win, but Comey's meddling in the election is likely to keep the Republican major...

Re: Recommendations for Bordeaux and Provence?

How difficult is it to drive around that area? Paris seemed too confusing to get a rental car, so we just used mass transit, Uber, and the commuter rail for day trips. As an ugly 'merican I've never been comfortable with traffic roundabouts. Can't comment on Provence but if it's anything like the L...

Really fun game last night.
I was rooting for the Cubs, mostly because 108>68, but would have been happy with either outcome.
Not a fan of Maddon either, but the players were easy to root for.

You can achieve the same result with a Monopol Ah-So plus the screw from a Screwpull with a little effort to get the alignment right. And at much lower cost. Funny, isn’t it, how it’s considered really cool when someone tracks down a lovely minor Burgundy or a wine from a little-known French region like Bugey or Lubéron, but Bordeaux is considered old hat and not propitious to such discoveries. Nothing could be further from the truth! That's why we have...

Well, Arv, the key is in the two incorrect assumptions in your first sentence: 1) That there is a team. There is no "Team Trump." Trump's an autocratic, dictatorial sort. 2) That they think. Not much of that going on at the top. Trump loves his own strategy and goes all in. So that's a bit...
