Different terroir, different wine. Trust me. Prats is involved in everything from top to bottom at Lafite as well as at all the Rothschild properties.

Great notes. Love this estate! Well, I should say “loved” as in past-tense. I stopped buying after Rolland got involved, well, I did buy but have not tried the 2014. I’m guessing the vintage spared the wine from his goopy style, like what you note in 2015. I still cannot believe such stalwart class...

I think the issue here is that some people fail to appreciate the experience of having your palate assaulted with waves of vinous intensity, and thus are not qualified to communicate the true nature of a wine such as the 2009 Cos d'Estournel. Too offer a different perspective, I have taken the libe...

Jeff and I have different palates as well, but I often find his write-ups and notes quite helpful. Jim... I am doubly impressed! Siran has been on a roll since 2014, when they brought in Hubert de Bouard as their consultant. Though I prefer the 15 for its softer lusher tannins and greater volume. 16 is very good, but just a bit less IMO. 18 is beautiful as well.

Having actually tasted about 600 wines from each vintage, in bottle and barrel for 15, and so far, just in barrel for 2016, stylistically, 2015 is sexier and softer, while 2016 is a little more fresh, bright and structured.
