Re: I take back everything I said about the 2019 du Tertre....

Jim I’ve actually had similar experiences myself - have a few 2019s already at this point as well (Gloria, d’Issan, etc. - none of the higher priced wines) and my experience has been pretty variable, tasting a few bottles of each wine. I don’t know if it’s bottle shock or what, but I still remain op...

Managed to snag a few (x4) 2014 Ch. Palmer in the low-$200ish per bottle on Black Friday deal, and actually splashed for a lot of whites (Hubert Lamy) in the sub $100/btl category; some of these blind stand toe to toe with Premier Cru / Grand Cru wines imho

La Lagune 2019 as a candidate. Surely a good proposal Ognik, but maybe the stars are "a bit too well aligned" with La Lagune as first William 'Stefan' Johnson Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts Wine of the Year... Isn't it the time for a Montrose to win? 2005 I had earlier this year was lights out...

I don’t often post my tasting notes, but I’ll make an exception for this one ;) . Re: So what have you bought lately?

I agree Jim. And I’m wondering about supply chain issues. It sure seems like the 2019s continue to be running late. And New Hampshire has like no champagne in its stores, which seems very bizarre to me. They usually have a ton of champagne, especially wines like Dom Perignon, Pol Roger, etc. Simila...

Am right there with you, Jim. I wish I had gone much deeper on 2019 than what I did, and based on the few I’ve tried this far, it really does seem like a vintage that can be enjoyed young as well as benefit from aging. I hope you find some leads! It’s slim pickings here in the Midwest so far and has...

Thank you for this excellent writeup and notes - I personally could not agree more. Michael’s Wine Cellar has a few 2019 Ch. Figeac that’s close to original futures pricing at $204/btl. Next cheapest I see on WS Pro is $285/btl. Too good to be true? Great notes - and I concur. It is a great wine and even better value at todays prices. I also give the nod to the 2014 VCC and it seems like the market likely agrees with that sentiment too given prices. Honestly, even though the 2014 VCC is now poking above $200/btl, and La Conseillante is low $100...

Opened a 375ml of 2009 Lynch Bages recently - honestly a bit bummed!
