It may very well be Marc, I was surprised at the level of tannin still remaining given the other 2000 chateau I’ve drunk through. After about a hour after decanting the tannins really came to life so I did the mouthwash test — I had to shave my tongue after that.

Brian, I’ve had a very similar experience with this wine but still managed to choke it all down before day two started. I have 2 left, sounds like maybe a six hour decant might be in order for the next attempt.
