Re: Paging SDR and Mr. Vino to the Champagne aisle please...
Not all of them. Salon was released not too long ago. Krug has not yet released a 2002 but is rumored to do so in the near future (just released 2003).

Re: Serendipitous Bordeaux Lunch
One hour decant and 20 minutes in the glass before tasting... On another note I can still taste the 1985 Pichon Baron, what a wine!

Serendipitous Bordeaux Lunch
Last night we had a terrible encounter with several 1999 Bordeaux which were in a very bad mood and grumpy due to being waken way before their time. The Montrose, Mission, and Las Cases were really shut down while the Mouton, although really not showing much, was at least enjoyable. The experience w...

Help with Tasting Ideas
Soon I will have to declare the topic for my turn at hosting our Bordeaux tasting group event. Most of the tastings are always verticals, horizontals, or commune reviews. I like to do things a bit differently and would like the help of the group in developing off kilter tasting themes. In the past I...

Today it is "Bordeaux should always make you grimace a little when you see the price" sort of way.

Saw the movie and was surprised at the many historical inaccuracies in regards to the 1855 classification and other issues. Other than that it was a fun peek at how the other half lives.

Tom, lots of empty slots in those racks... Hope that is not caused by killing the 2010's too soon!

Re: The 2011 Giacosa Nebbiolo d'Alba
I have never truly enjoyed a Barolo younger than 30 years old.
Re: 2001s
My personal favorites at the tasting were Pape Clement, Cheval Blanc, and Gruaud Larose.
The Pichon Baron and Leoville Las Cases were really good but need in my opinion at least 5 more years.

Re: 2001s
The Bacchus tasting group in PR did a recent single blind tasting vintage review with the following 2001 Bordeaux. The wines were served in no particular order and were not identified until the end. RDD, didn't mean to imply it was good, it should be drinkable though.

Re: Question re 1990 Markham Merlot and 1997 Roundhill Merlot
Jim:
The 1990 Markham had so much fruit upon release (a distributor I used to work for at that time sold it) that there should be something left if stored well. A recent CT note says as much. Not familiar with Roundhill.

Jim, how did the 1998 Clinet show? We had a bottle recently and it was tasty but very primary and did not budge a bit over 2 hours.
