Re: Ch Lagrange St Julien under or over performer....

Personally, I think that Lagrange is a lovely wine that offers great QPR.
While I don’t know that anything has equalled the ‘90 and ‘96 for me (although the ‘16 might also be a winner), I still enjoy it very much and buy it fairly often.

Re: 1982 Bordeaux

The best ‘82 I’ve ever had was the first of two bottles of Pichon Lalande. (The second was also terrific, but somehow not the equal of the first.) I have had the Gruaud Larose 10+ times, and absolutely love it. In fact, one of those times was at a dinner that also featured the ‘82 Lafite and Leovill...

I had to smile when I saw this thread topic (and smiled more at the great review), because I was in my friend’s wine room yesterday, where I keep some of my wine and I found several bottles of the 2002 Pichon Lalande that I’d forgotten I had! Any recommendations for Bordeaux?
We have booked hotels, but that's all so far.
With the great trip that BWEers took to Bordeaux, there must be some collective wisdom on chateaux that are particularly worth visiting.
All insights and suggestions would be welcome!
Thanks,

Recommendations for Bordeaux and Provence?

Next Spring we will be traveling to Provence and Bordeaux. Although we've been to France several times, this will be our first time traveling in either of these regions and I am very much looking forward to it. I know that a number of my fellow BWEers have made a glorious-sounding trip to Bordeaux, ...

I thought Trump ranted and babbled a lot.
More of his puerile behavior and limited vocabulary on display (he refers to everything as a "disaster" multiple times) and little substance or command of details.
He looked angry and desperate, and not remotely presidential.

August 1982 at Le Pre Catalan in Paris. A dumb kid who knows nothing about wine basically stumbles upon a mispriced bottle of Chateau Latour 1976. I don't think I had ever had a Bordeaux before. The light bulb went off as soon as i tasted it: "Ah! Now i get it!" Not remotely one of the bes...

I love the '88 Lynch.
I had it next to the '88 Latour a couple of years ago, and on that occasion the Lynch clearly outshone the Latour.
Long (really long) ago, I was at a Lynch vertical. The '89 and '82 were spectacular - hardly a surprise.
