Bumping this, any old or new BWE thoughts on the 2014 Canon?

I see it on discount for $64, probably worth trying a few bottles.

Nice! Is the 86 Ducru a reconditioned bottle or are the 86s mostly pre-taint?

Good point: the 30% doesn’t last forever, maybe just your first month. But even at 18%, these are seriously tempting prices.

Interesting and bleak take: https://www.newyorker.com/news/letter-from-bidens-washington/2024-trump-is-even-scarier-than-2020-trump It sure looks like Biden v Trump II, Bingo on the Potomac , where 80 is the new 40. So, if we buy the rematch narrative, who wins? House money has to be on Biden, right?

I have an 86 Lynch as well acquired recently via auction, from the same lot as what I brought to dinner recently with Ed and Lisa in SF, but based on the showing of the first bottle, this lot probably wasn’t stored perfectly. That said, happy to bring it.

Apparently the 2020s are even better than the 2019s. More classical…and…lower in alcohol. I’ve no ‘19 experience to compare to, but I thought most of the 2020s at the UGC were terrific, including the brilliant ‘20 Lynch Bages. I did attend the UGC featuring the 2016s and in comparison the 2020s sho...

I enjoy many bubblies, but Krug is my favorite house.

In the peerlessly generous spirit in which BWE was founded and has been sustained ever since, I’ll definitely share this BD-facilitated score at future conventions.

Given there’s no sales tax buying it in NH, it’s like finding Krug on the shelf in Colorado for $122!

*I love how excited we are on the “deal” we’re getting for a single bottle of wine that costs over $100!
