OWN-concerning the Branaire-I do think it will reward 5 more years. But try one yourself to see how it's doing. I feel there is a partial closed state, but try decanting an hour+ and see.

But Jim, when have you seen the last report from the BIG critics of a vintage 5-6 years after? Barrel tastings yes, in the bottle up to one year later yes, but 5-6 years on? I dare say NO.

I just reported on my bottle of G-P-L. I am curious how other bottles taste. The Barolo is 15 years old. How much longer does a bottle need to be to drink well? If a wine needs more than 15 years in a cellar before it is even decent, then it is my opinion that it didn't start out decent.
