Nice report on another 2019, the Lafon-Rochet. I have a tough time assessing when the 2019 will be at their peak, being kinda big ripe tannic slightly high alcohol wines…

I really liked the 2016. I had the 2020 as well, that was very young, but with a more flowery style.

Very nice wine, typical Médoc. Very convincing, like all 2016 I had. Nice nose of blackcurrants, violet flowers, licorice, black olive, and dark chocolate oak. This Very classical in mouth. Medium body, blackberries and blackcurrants attack, no sweetness but good concentrated blue fruit flavors. Flo...

Probably a British expression for gentle extraction like in tea... but longer infusion than tea to have some concentration.

I prefer an "infusion" vintage than a "transfusion" vintage : bleed the grape a maximum to make more wine?

Surely 2 great vintages. Which one will get the edge? Let's see in 25 years...

I'm not totally charmed by the 2019 yet, but they are 3 years younger... i had not deception yet, with 2016... but small sample up to now.

I vote net positive, for bringing Bordeaux to be a main interest of general wine consumers. And from his description and rating, it was easy to identify wine that you would like. An example : i probbably prefer the wines that Parker rated 90-94 for being more "classical", and i'm less conv...

Coming back to GBF original post, and some comments made on 2005 Lagrange, i do think that this is a good Lagrange, but in terme of the vintage, a pretty weak effort. I would have imagined the 2005 Lagrange being more concentrated, a bit more ripe, complex and long.
