Re: The 1989 Lynch Bages Price Index

Prices listed in pending auctions mean nothing to me. All I know is my own experience trying to buy 1989 Lynch these days, try to realistically buy it for under $500. The 89/90 Lynch lot means nothing to me. 1990 is not 1989. Adding 1990 to 1989 diminishes the value of 1989, what is the strategy be...

The 20 Lynch Bages was one of the stars of the UGC. Agree.. It depends on how the wines were showing at that time and how long the bottle had been opened, but Lynch showed really well (even better than the Pichons that day for me) and it has 13 abv The notable thing is, 2020 Duhart has only 12.5 ab...

If interested, this article by Asimov is informative... Asimov doesn’t mention, but IIRC, decades ago, some Savigny producers used to blend reds with even the whites :o , which contributed to consumers not taking it seriously at that time... https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/16/dining/drinks/savigny-l...

Interesting thought CV. My recollection is that liquor stores did land order business early in the pandemic. But I can see uncertainty leading to a limited offering. Also the 19 vintage was marred by that uncertainty about that tariff fight, and that might have contributed to NH placing fewer order...
