`Jacques,
A beautiful wine note. I have had this wine somewhere along the way. I don't think it was the '00. It might have been an '82. I love Barolo.

Jim,I think it was the '89. Whuzzup___ was staying with me that weekend and I remember he and I taking turns at my computer! Alch, I think you were auditing the tasting. You did not have the wine but you logged into the chat to say hi.
Those were good times.

Alch, I can't remember. I want to guess is was a GL. Perhaps the '86. Back in the day when we were tannin junkies. I remember you were talking about your cat. Does that trigger your memory?

This is a solid Bordeaux. I paid $30 recently for a single bottle. I would be a buyer of this wine in the $20 range. Anyone recall what this wine cost on future?

TN: 2000 Château Cantemerle (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc)
2000 Château Cantemerle - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc (2/1/2009) This wine has a dark color and is showing well. The nose offers cassis, tobacco and pine tar. The palate, while still youthful, is open with black/red fruit, medium-low acidity and somewhat course tannins for the vintage. Stil...

Comte, I am by now means a Monfortino expert but I have had most of the "big" vintages including the '58, '61, '71 and '78. The '82 was right up there with them. Yes, I agree, the pricing for Monfortino is insane. Furthermore, sources tell me that this wine is one of the more commonly fake...

David, Modern might be a better term. And that comes from what was, to my palate, a high degree of oak. It reminded me qualitatively of Roty's Charmes or perhaps a young Guigal La La. I don't doubt that the wine will evolve positively. Perhaps my note read more stridently than it should have. I like...

Local TN's
Last night I attended a dinner at a friend's home with a local group. Five attendees functioned as chefs, each cooking a dish for the group. We then voted for our favorites in an "Iron Chef" format. It was a fun theme and a nice way to pass the evening. We had some wine, too. 2005 Domaine ...

VLT to Commemorate the NEW BWE
I thought it would be a good idea to hold a VLT (Virtual Live Tasting) to celebrate the New BWE. It seems like it is about time, anyway. The VLT is a uniquely BWE phenomenon and is always a good time. I was thinking of doing the '95 GPL. Any thoughts are welcome. It would be nice to do this in Febru...

I'm OK without them. Back on the Belmaati Site Joe got me a cool avatar of a guy shelling out money ... it fit my life ! I sort of like the way the Wine Disorder site functions. Very basic.
