Man that cork was tight. Not dry, but too big for the neck. Lots of tobacco notes emanating from the portal. Some Red Man even. Smells sweet. I just know this is gonna be good. No drinking yet though. Still have a couple of things to do yet.

This is another 03 that's drinking well already. Of course it's only a crus bourgeois (superieur) so 8-9 years or so this should not surprise. I think it's also a factor of the vintage - soft fruit that makes it approachable. This was by no means flabby, and it actually had nice acidity, I thought. Medium concentration and body with a pillow soft and downy light plate impression and the finish has some tingly tannins. This too gained at the back end with air time, but it remained a wine that doesn't smack you with the attack but impresses with palate persistence - love this type of wine. Overall impression is of a totally integrated wine showing some mature characteristics.
