Vins de Savoie

Post by smoore4 »

It's fondue and raclette weather! Wondering where in the US I can find vins de Savoie. The wife is from there. A red Mondeuse is asking too much but would love to find that too. totalwine.com is negative for all of the above. Thank you! Steve

Saratoga Wine Exchange has a few if you are able to have wines shipped to where you are (including a Mondeuse).

If I remember right, you live in Tampa.
Seagrape Wine Company in Sarasota carries some Pelican Arbois Savagnin Ouillé 2018. Arbois is pretty close to Savoie. The owner Thomas is a friend, call him and mention my name if you're interested. He may ship or find a way to get some to you.

B-21 in Tarpon Springs also carries an Arbois: 2016 Joseph Dorbon Arbois Blanc Cuvee des Moyne.

B-21 also has a Chasselas from Switzerland.

Good luck

Garagiste up in Seattle carries a range and offers them via email during the year, that being said, it's not immediate gratification.

K&L also direct imports a bunch, and I've bought some from there as well.

If you do the wine.com foolishness, they will also have some.

I realize that its not the same exact same region, but some of the Alto Adigo / Trentino whites have similar taste profiles, and are much more available.
bubbly works too, this was a blanc de noir with fondue
