For those interested in the 2003 St Pierre...be careful. There are some really funky / odd bottles floating around out there, and I would not be surprised if some of the secondary market offerings are from disillusioned owners. Mine were drunk up, but some had a nail polish remover aspect at first.

Personally I don't think they're worth more than $20 given that risk. I have heard about this problem with this vintage/bottling combo from others as well. And I'm generally a 2003 bull unlike most here....

1978 Mouton. Below market deal seemed worth a flier to split with a friend.

Thanks for the additional information, AKR.

I'm learning a lot about these 2003 Saint Pierre's (thanks to this great community) and have oscillated from - they were worth the final price and wish I had pulled the trigger - to being glad I missed out as they may have tasted like nail polish remover.

Ill comfort myself with the 05 Tour Saint Bonnets that I managed pick up instead.

There is no substitute for family, friends, or football team love (great times to be a reds fan, Ian), but there's always another wine.

Actually very little. It's been high 70s to mid 80s every day here
I think the last red wine I drank was some Kosher swill during Passover about 3 weeks ago.
Otherwise, mainly regular 2018 Chablis from Fevre or Billaud Simon with fish 2-3 times a week.

Heh. I had one of those back in February and IIRC was better than the 03 St Pierre. I'd drink them up though.

6 bottles of Issan 2019. I already have far too much 2019, but this was at the original price and begged me to take them. As others on a different thread have noted, this chateau generally is one of the great bargains of Bordeaux.

Very well done indeed, Musigny. D’Issan is a BWE kind of wine.

Well said, Jacques and yes, good times indeed!

Unbelievably, my cousin went into the ballot and got tickets to the final in Paris. If results keep going our way, I think we're obliged to open something special in celebration.
Cheers, Ian.

LOL, Bill, it was some Carmel Mizrahi Selected stuff that a friend brought, it was ok.

I also went into the ballot but did not win. I still have faint hope for Sunday's game, the fat lady hasn't sung yet. YNWA

Carmel Mizrahi Selected is not that bad if you liked wine that has been boiled, Jacques. Better than MD, anyway.

6 2017 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru "Butteaux" Vieilles Vignes. Louis Michel 1er Cru Chablis are no longer a super bargain but still give good value. These were $50. The 2020 is five bucks less.

Not buying anything expensive or adding more wine to age right now, while I wait for my 2019 EP purchases to arrive. Just refilling the short term drinking supply.
The first 4 are re-buys. The Paloumey is excellent. The Les Grands Marechaux is one of the best under $15 Bordeaux I've ever had.
I'm not familiar with Clos Manou or Petit Manou but someone mentioned it on WB recently as a good classically styled wine.

I was looking at my cellar and noticed a lack of red burgundy compared to my Bordeaux and Cal Cab. Also wanted to pick up more 2016 Tuscany and all the 2021 German I can find.

I picked up a 4 pack of Mikasa stemless wine tumblers, compared to Riedel 'O' series they are heavier/larger yet thinner. It seems to be a different kind of crystal, and they are from Slovakia. My perception of Mikasa had always been that they were Japanese -- we have some beautiful Mikasa Martini glasses which are indeed Japanese -- but who knows what happens with brands nowadays.

And some 2014’s…

Had a wild time with Leland Little in North Carolina. Great looking cellar with a few semi bargains. If anybody bought there also, I am working with a trucking company to bring wines to NY.

I picked up a few bottles, too, including some old Ducru Beaucaillou that look too good to be true. I last ordered from them a few years ago when they wanted $100 per bottle for overnight shipping to me in Florida. Fortunately their UPS contract has improved since then.

Good work Nic. The only one I've had is the Terlano Pinot Grigio, and it's pretty nice for the price.

I got a 25% off coupon from Total Wine and made the price a bit reasonable on these two. I hardly ever buy there. Nice store in McLean for Bordeaux

They emailed it to me. Probably because I signed up for their concierge program, downloaded their app, and bought futures from them.

Went to the trade UGC on Monday afternoon in NYC and tasted through the wines on show and one of the wines that stood out to me was the 2019 Lagrange which showed dark red fruits and was lively on the palate, so when I saw it listed as in-stock @ Bottle King in Ramsey, I grabbed a 6pack @ $49.99/per.
