I second this, and would especially like pics of each of them in the middle of the blind tasting deciphering.

Personally, i rarely take pictures. I know Ian took a few, and one or two were taken by one of our kid, with MC's phone. I'll look what we have on our side.

And we had some pretty amazing wines.

First of all at my place as an aperitif, and then Nic’s mystery wine:

Those white labels look lovely. I had the 96 recently that was extremely pretty, although I thought it was still a tad young for my tastes.

Comte Flaneur Guy Gadois, at your service!

Of course Marcus, I will most likely be around, could be a good time to do a vertical of my collection of vintage Prosecco

Prosecco is a good choice for next week, as a heatwave is forecasted in London.

Can't believe i was in London this morning, now back home in Saguenay, 19 hours later.

Hi Robert. Comte Flaneur has to answer that one, as these are the glasses he brought from his place to enjoy the two Nebbiolo wines.

Very fine cristal and large glasses.

They are. One of my favorite glasses as well. Especially for Barolo, but also some Burgundy and some Bordeaux. Any ones that are in their drinking window but also need a fair amount of air. I believe that Ian likes his first growths out of the glass actually. I rarely drink first growths so I haven't tried that yet.

Long story short, I highly recommend getting at least one and experimenting. The shape is very conducive to really bringing out the aromas of some of these wines. It is almost as light as a Zalto.

Well spotted Joel, there was a hint in a picture earlier in the thread (box with Conterno sensory written on the side) and I think you are spot on with your analysis.

The price of a sensory is fairly trivial compared to the price of some of the wines, which show best in these glasses.

For mature FG Bordeaux I think Grassl 1855 is perhaps the ultimate. But for young FG Bordeaux Conterno Sensory might be better, so when we compared 2000 and 2010 Ch. Margaux late last year we served the 2000 in the 1855 and the 2010 in the Sensory and that worked well.

I picked up a couple of the Grassl 1855 on your recommendation and have been experimenting recently. I like them. Sometimes using them for white Burgundy actually. But so far, I still prefer my Zalto Bordeaux glass, or my Gabriel Glas gold for mature Bordeaux in general (not usually 1st growths but high quality seconds from the 70's and 80's. I used my GG gold for the 1979 horizontal that we did)

Any specific things that you find better about the Grassl, Ian? Or specific wines to try it with? In fairness, I tend to hate change and it took me at least 6 months to come around on the Sensory.

PS. I just bought the Josephine by Zalto Champagne glasses and I really enjoyed them on my first few tries. Something to consider. I may need to try a few of their other styles.

I haven't had that problem myself. Doesn't seem any more fragile than any of similar type/weight. I haven't broken one yet, although knock on wood. I have been more careful lately and have a pretty good cleaning method.

I just have yet to find any specific wines that I prefer out of the Grassl to the Zalto BDX or GG gold, or maybe even Conterno Sensory. And I usually try wines in multiple glasses, you know, for science.
