09 firsts...

Post by rjsussex »

... as we're all squabbling over them let's just be calm and fair and settle for 5 cases each of Lafite at UK £12,000 in bond and Latour at £10,000 in bond - just don't crowd my space ok - I've got the dogs to feed after paying up for these bargain drinkers

I think it took about 5-6 years for speculation I saw here about $1,000 1sts to be realized.

every time one of these futures campaigns starts, its is an excuse to buy older wines (especially first growths, which are cheaper now than the new once are on release.....)

yet the crazy issue is that the inflated 1ers Crus prices of new lreeases simply drags the prices of the old wines with it.
I'm never buying 1ers Crus again.
Not bought a single once since the 2002 vintage.
If I can get wines like Calon Segur for $SNG105 why pay $SNG2000 for 1ers??
($SNG = $US70c or so)
